SEAM Washington, D.C. Office to Transition to Fully Remote Services

December 12, 2025

Beginning January 2, 2026, the SEAM Washington, D.C. office will transition from in-person services to fully remote support. While our physical D.C. office will transition to virtual services, SEAM remains committed to serving students and providing exceptional service to the Hopkins D.C. community.

This change reflects what our data and student feedback have consistently shown: virtual interactions dominate. Web-based requests outnumber in-person visits by more than 35:1 in the D.C. community.

By moving fully remote, the SEAM D.C. team can:

  • Deliver equitable, convenient, and timely support to all JHU students, regardless of location.
  • Enhance responsiveness and efficiency through improved data tracking and streamlined processes.
  • Maintain the high standard of student-centered service you expect across financial aid, registration, and billing.

We will continue to provide on-site coverage for high-volume periods, including the first weeks of each semester, orientations, and registration periods to ensure a smooth experience during peak times. Notary services will continue to be offered at the Bloomberg Center on a limited basis. You can also find notary services at local UPS Stores.

Students can continue to contact SEAM via our web form, virtual appointments, and phone support—the same channels you already prefer. Homewood and East Baltimore will continue to offer in-person SEAM services.

SEAM’s shift in service also coincides with the repurposing of the Bloomberg Center’s 4th Floor Suite for the School of Government and Policy, effective in 2026.

Thank you for partnering with us as we make this transition to better serve the Hopkins community!
